You are warmly invited to join us over the weekend of 15–16 May for a preview of Beta 2026, taking place in the former 'Ion Mincu' Technical College building and the Botanical Park.

The programme marks a first moment of encounter with the works, teams, and interventions currently in progress, ahead of the public opening of the biennial in September. Over these two days, we hope to offer a direct view into the working process: into the way architectural ideas meet a real place, with its materials, constraints, negotiations, and possibilities.

Access: entry is possible either from the Botanical Park or from Gheorghe Lazăr Street, through the gate of the former “Ion Mincu” Technical High School.

Welcome address by the Beta 2026 team, curators and partners.

18.00 → In Progress Conversations
A two-part conversation between the Beta 2026 curators and participating teams currently working on site, discussing proposals for reconnecting and transforming the site as a whole, as well as the complexities and uncertainties that emerge when architectural ideas are put into practice.

A guided walk throughout the Beta 2026 site, offering a first look at the works already completed or still taking shape across the former school and its surroundings.

12.00 → Inflatable Dynamics – A collaborative architectural performance with Martial Marquet
A workshop exploring inflatable structures and temporary spatial occupation through the collective construction of a large-scale installation.

13.00 → Blue Windows: Cyanotypes of Vegetal Memory with collettivo süssholz
A workshop that introduces participants to the process of cyanotype printing on glass. Participants will experiment with applying this technique to the windows of the Beta 2026 site, using botanical motifs.
