2024 Edition

cover me softly – the main exhibition of Beta 2024 – was an exploration of the concept of “cover” across disciplines, media and geographies – curated by Oana Stănescu.

Contrary to notions of copying, imitation or reproduction, each carrying its own ethical connotations, the concept of cover proposes an alternative set of relationships through which we can understand how knowledge transfers and structures of authorship circulate in art and design. By focusing on our vast interconnectedness, cover me softly opened up new possibilities for doing, creating and being.

The Beta Awards 2024 were the main event of the Profession category, which supports and promotes quality architecture and professionals who contribute to the improvement of the built environment, being conceived as a networking interface both within the profession and between the profession and the socio-cultural environment in which it operates.

The Beta Awards 2024 had, like the previous exhibition-competition, a Euroregional character, by opening the competition to the 3 neighboring countries: Romania, Hungary and Serbia. Organizing the competition in this format is based on the similarities of context in the 3 countries, encouraging participation on a wider scale and thus contributing to the development of a multilateral dialogue about the future of the profession.
