Dynamic relationships between body and space are explored through specific movement exercises in which different bodily planes, directions of movement, and spatial formations are experienced in practice and reflected upon. This develops a deeper understanding of space and a greater awareness of the interplay between movement and spatial configuration, allowing participants to physically experience and creatively engage with different forms of proximity, distance, dimension, and grouping. The workshop draws on movement languages and compositional principles from dance.
No previous dance experience is required. Openness and curiosity towards movement are, however, encouraged and will enrich the collective process.
