Collective, Austria
Drawing on experience from previous projects, the collective integrates material research, participatory prototyping, and iterative on-site processes into their practice. They have managed full workflows, from resource mapping and material development in workshops to spatial design and construction logistics, enabling them to create adaptable, circular systems and navigate complex design and production environments with confidence.
They are a Vienna-based architectural collective exploring the intersection of design research, architecture, and material culture. Their work emphasizes hands-on experimentation, circular building strategies, and context-sensitive processes. The collective collaborates across disciplines to create spatial solutions that are socially engaged, resource-aware, and grounded in local realities.
The team brings three complementary approaches: Martin Kohlbauer as trained carpenter grounds the work in craft and material intelligence; Sophie Coqui rebuilds a small hut through a "material imperative," letting what is found shape each step; and Luisa Zwetkow brings many years of experience in interior architecture — her habit of cooking on site fosters dialogue and exchange, enriching the project with spatial sensitivity and collaborative insight.
