About Nate Jobe

Nate Jobe grew up in Santa Barbara, California surrounded by skateboarding, MTV, mountain biking, hiking, and swimming in the ocean.

Nate graduated college with a BA in Fine Art and set off on his hero journey of defining his career and himself as a designer. For the last 20+ years he has navigated different disciplines across design. He has worked as a designer in graphic, website, mens apparel, accessory, and finally to footwear. He has lived in six different cities across the world and worked at companies like: Simple Shoes, Freshjive, Adidas Originals, Converse, Nike, and finally New Guards Group.

The majority of his career has been spent in the footwear world and primarily around the world of collaboration. With his teams they created some the most memorable sneaker legacy projects. To highlight a few: Converse Comme Des Garcons PLAY chuck, Number (N)ine, Nike Pigalle collections, Skepta SK Air collections, Nike Virgil 10 & Off-White collections, Tom Sachs Nike Craft, Acronym, Travis Scott, Drake, Sacai, Undercover, Ricardo Tisci, and many others.

His best collaboration to date was amongst his own team at Nike (sadly his last project there at the swoosh). Collaborative thinking amongst his team spurred him to initiate a fundamental transformation of Nike Sportswear innovation. Identifying the unique circumstances of "unique athletes," the people living in cities, they clarified distinct problems (through both observation and concrete data sets) that allow for a whole new type of problem-solving, evidenced by the launch of Nike ISPA.

Today Nate lives and works in Milan, Italy with his family and 2 Bernese Mountain dogs. The journey continues…
