SPAZIO Arte + Arhitectura

SPAZIO Arte + Arhitectura is an experimental studio founded in 2023 by architects Matei Eugen Stoean and Andreea Mihaela Chirca, drawing lines in-between art and architecture, design and research.

Matei Eugen Stoean (b. 1987, Bucharest) is a practicing architect, PhD and faculty member at "Ion Mincu" University of Architecture and Urban Planning (UAUIM) Bucharest since 2012. Following his professional practice in collaboration with PRODID Bucharest, he co-founded the SPAZIO A+A office.

Andreea Mihaela Chircaă (b. 1995) is a PhD candidate at "Ion Mincu" University of Architecture and Urban Planning Bucharest (UAUIM). Her thesis entitled "Architecture as Art of Space. Conceptualisation and Representation" has been developed in co-tutorship with Sapienza Università di Roma through two study residencies. She is tutoring theory seminars at the History & Theory of Architecture and Heritage Conservation at UAUIM and has been invited, as a juror and as a tutor, at multiple international workshops in Italy. Andreea is also a curator, collaborating with /SAC (Spaiul de Art Contermporan) Bucharest, being the coordinator and curator of the exhibition „CELLA/kamera. Alexander Brodsky at Malmaison" in the summer of 2025. Through poiesis of space Andreea curates an imaginary/virtual gallery of (non-)architectural references meant to trigger a critical visual consciousness.
