Matei Bejenaru

Matei Bejenaru is a visual artist who, through photography, video, performance and intermedia installations, analyses how modes of economic production, technological knowledge, mentalities and lifestyles have changed over the past two decades in post-communist countries. In his recent projects, he explores the materiality of the photographic medium and the politics of representation in documentary formats. Working with analogue technologies, he focuses on the photographic process as a witness to the crisis of singularity and artistic commitment.
