In this workshop, Oana Frentiu (Doda Natural) and Sonia Sobrino Ralston will lead participants in explorations of two methods of documenting and making use of plants. A selection of healing plants will serve as the basis for a plant drawing and natural cosmetics workshop.
Participants first learn methods to document plants using images of plants and selections of digital models from the installation work. Afterward, workshop participants will be led through the process of using these medicinal plants in a hands-on workshop.
Sonia Sobrino Ralston is a designer, researcher, and educator. She currently serves as an Assistant Teaching Professor in Landscape Architecture and Art + Design at Northeastern University, in the College of Art, Media and Design. Oana Frentiu is a self-taught herbalist with a deep commitment to sustainability and responsible foraging and founder of Doda Natural.
