Text presentation of the author/office in English

Art&Facts is an architecture and art office from Suceava, founded in 2016, by Larisa-Georgiana Popa, PhDarch. and high school Art teacher, and Sergiu Popa, architect and visual artist, aiming at imagining and producing art, design and architecture objects. Starting from sculpture and graphic design works, the office's activity has recently focused on residential architecture, working with experimental space, surprising interior paths and the intimate relationship between architecture and nature. Founded in 1998, Prodomus is a promoter of innovative and sustainable architectural design, specializing in creating functional and aesthetic spaces in the residential, commercial, and public sectors, integrating eco-friendly practices and energy-efficient technologies.

Project title in English

The house concept is generated by two essential theme features: the recurrent form management of type "A" timber frame constructions met in the mountain areas, clients’ requirement, and the open, transparent expression, requirement due to site exceptional quality. Responding to these two needs, a simple, mysterious yet highlighted construction was designed, a mediator between interior and exterior spaces. On the way down to the house, the sober and opaque facade surprises the visitor who, once inside the house, sequentially discovers new perspectives from a higher elevation. The house is intended to be a continuous mysterious game, capturing various perspectives to three directions through the different elevations of the floorboards. Thus, the entrance hall, the bathroom with a buried bathtub area, the cooking area are separated from the rest of the functions by being located at a higher elevation (+0.45), while preserving the idea of the open plan in which the upper floor is transformed into various sitting places. The interior spaces honestly highlight the wood structure, emphasizing it with exposed beams and paneling (some colored), interior joinery, but also enhancing it with black metal and copper. The exterior surfaces are treated in gray tones - exposed concrete and ceramic tile - outlined by colored accents in the wood and copper shades. Natural materials will age with the house, being in continuous transformation from season to season, from year to year.
