I graduated in 2015 from the Faculty of Architecture and Urban Planning at the Politehnica University of Timișoara. During my studies, I broadened my horizons with several scholarships at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics and the University of Seville. After gaining experience in architectural offices in Budapest following my graduation, I co-founded Barkoba Studio in 2019 with three partners.
Our architecture studio was inspired by the collaborative work at the Technical University. After graduation, we gained experience separately for five years in renowned domestic and foreign architectural studios.
Combining our various expertise, we launched our collaborative studio. We believe that the main source of our creativity is diversity, which stems from the different personalities of the four founders, our proficiency in international projects, and our sensitivity to international trends.In our work, we place great emphasis on innovative and creative approaches, sustainability, and the principles of environmental psychology.

The house originally built as a summer residence next to a vineyard in the early 1980s was transformed into a permanent residence for a small family. A new interior design was needed in order to meet the new needs created due to the change of function. During the interior design, the main goal was the efficient use of space, in order to create a comfortable, practical home for the family.
Most of the house is one common space on two floors, including a kitchen, dining and living area on the base floor, and a sleeping area on the first floor. As a result of this arrangement, the inhabitants of the house can enjoy their time together at home, even if one is cooking, and the other reading in bed. Despite the small footprint and low interior height, the open spaces between the two floors also provide a pleasant sense of space and lighting. The integrated loft net between the two levels separates and yet connects the living room with the sleeping area. It provides transparency, preserving the unity of the large glass surface, but at the same time increasing the useful floor area of the upper floor. It is the children's favorite place, the location for morning coffee, and it can also serve as a guest bed if needed.
One of the central elements of the apartment is the fireplace. Being a television-free apartment, it occupies its strategic location and in wintertime partially takes over its role, too. Its warm light accompanies family conversations in the evening, illuminates cheerful faces telling stories of the day's events, and even makes it a lot easier on the heating bill. The custom-designed built-in furniture is the most practical furniture for a small apartment. These are mostly supplemented with upcycled furniture. Some of the objects and lamps inherited from the old house were renovated together with other furniture from the 60s, 70s, and 80s.
