Text presentation of the author/office in English

Our architecture studio was inspired by the collaborative work at the Technical University. After graduation, we gained experience separately for five years in renowned domestic and foreign architectural studios. Combining our various expertise, we launched our collaborative studio. We believe that the main source of our creativity is diversity, which stems from the different personalities of the four founders, our proficiency in international projects, and our sensitivity to international trends. In our work, we place great emphasis on innovative and creative approaches, sustainability, and the principles of environmental psychology.

Project description in English

The Rákóczi Association is a cross-border community supporting the Hungarian minorities around the Carpathian Basin. Our task was to design a multifunctional sports center for their activities. In addition to its primary function, the sports center also provides space for larger events and gatherings organized at their camp site. On multifunctional sports fields colorful lines are supporting different sports. During the design process, we extended the power of these lines beyond the playing field to the interior, to the information system, and a kind of light, playful "decoration." The building has a logical structure and, apart from a few guiding signs, does not require significant orientation aids. These are placed on the walls at easily visible heights in the usual manner. The central element of the building is the multifunctional gymnasium, primarily designed for ball games, around which the other rooms are organized to complement or serve it. One of the design considerations for the interior is that the ball should be visible against the surfaces enclosing the space with consistent contrast. The uniform, light color of the gymnasium and the use of matte surfaces aim to meet this expectation. The direct relationship between the gymnasium and the lobby, as well as the changing rooms, is ensured by a wall bar. The wall incorporating the wall bar runs as a solid parapet up to the railing height of the first floor. The staircase between the ground floor and the first floor is used by visitors, but the same stairs also lead to the operational area on the second floor. The wall covering of the stairwell, which appears between the ground floor and the first floor, aims to indicate this delicate boundary to visitors without being intrusive or prohibitive. The sauna is separate from the rest of the sports hall, primarily associated with the outdoor pool. Colors don't creep in here, the monochrome world is broken by wooden surfaces, it's all about relaxation.
