Project description in English
AMAZONIA represents the end of a long, winding and fragmented road of the project started in 2012 which brought together all the challenges of a balneo-tourist and leisure complex. The period of design and execution has gone through challenging stages in recent years that have been completed in a private investment that brings an increase in the quality of life of the city and the region.
Timișoara and Banat have a history related to water, which forces the recovery of culture from the landscape. The Bega before it was channeled could be compared to an Amazonian arm. The forest disappeared over time, the water course straightened, the birds left, the people remained but moved away from the waters.
AMAZONIA is a project about rediscovering the benefits of water.
The project represents the indoor aquapark stage that completes all the services offered by the existing beach. The presence of this project in the selection of the BETA project competition is meant to question how we as architects relate to complex projects through program, execution as well as through the long design time and accompanying throughout the process.
The project questions the relevance of endurance in the profession and how we relate to such programs.
