Aleksandar Bede
dr. architect, researcher, curator, author and editor, Serbia
Dr. Aleksandar Bede is an architect, researcher, curator, author and editor from Novi Sad, Serbia. He studied architecture and urbanism at University of Novi Sad and earned his Ph.D. degree in urbanism at IUAV (Venice, Italy). He dedicated much of his career to the research of history of 20th century architecture and urbanism, and published books on modernist topics in Serbia and Germany. His professional interests have recently expanded onto classical architecture and he was a fellow at the CSCA 2023 Summer School in Classical Architecture at University of Cambridge, UK and Engelsberg, Sweden.
He edits the Serbian architecture magazine DaNS, and was a board member of local and national architectural associations in Serbia (DANS, UAS). He was also a fellow at several artist-in-residence and researcher-in-residence programs: Akademie Schloss Solitude (Stuttgart, Germany), AiR ORTE (Krems, Austria), and Motel Trogir (Split, Croatia).
In recent years, Aleksandar has been closely collaborating with colleagues in Timisoara: as a guest lecturer at FAUT in 2020 and at Ecluze be Bega project series in 2022-2023, as well as a jury member at the 14th edition of the CASA competition in 2023.
