Updated schedule 2026

We've updated the schedule for the sixth edition: preview in May, public opening in September.

The weekend of 15-16 May opens with a preview, consisting of guided tours, talks, participatory workshops, and networking moments, centred around the installations and interventions already underway in the former school building and the Botanical Park.

The programme includes a series of talks and workshops with local and international guests, amongst which a collaboration with Vienna Design Week and Biofabrique, focused on material innovation and contemporary practices of transforming built space - a natural extension of the edition’s theme, In Practice - as opposed to 'in theory'.

The teams and practitioners present in person or through their work at this stage are: Vlad Nancă, Vitamin A, collettivo süssholz, Ane Crișan, grillovasiu, Stéphanie Wolf & Frédéric Kancel, Krug Macovei Wang, Martial Marquet, kosmos, cookies, Office For Roundtable, MBL, Șerban Savu andi Rareș David.

The sixth edition of Beta will open to the general public on September 4 and will remain open until October 25, including the Beta Awards. Details including the programme and the Office in Residence schedule will be announced at a later date.

Curators Andreas Kofler and Tudor Vlăsceanu continue their investigation into contemporary architectural practice beyond representation, towards the practical processes that shape space and community.
