Beta x The The Garrison Command
About the location
The Garrison Command, documented in the plans of the Timișoara fortress from 1727, served as the residence of the general commander of the Banat region. Although the original baroque ornamental details have not been preserved, the square geometry of the building with an imposing entrance crowned by a pediment, flanked by two symmetrical wings has been preserved to this day, except for some changes to the facade and the construction of the central balcony.
Cultural space
Also known as the "Generalatul Nou", the historical monument building was and is used as a space for exhibitions and events.
For Beta, the public space in Piața Libertății was an ideal location for exhibiting the projects entered in the Beta Awards (until 2022 - Competition Exhibition).

By bike
We encourage you to come by bike to our events. In the garrison yard, we have prepared a rack where you can tie your bike safely.
By tram
The nearest tram station is 140 m from the entrance to the Garrison's Comenduira, this port is called Liberty Square. The means of transport that pass by Piața Libertății in Timisoara are the trams on lines 1, 2 and 4. This is a convenient and affordable option, but make sure you check the timetables and available lines to plan accordingly.
By taxi
The nearest taxi station is in Piața Iancu Huniade, from there you have to walk 5 minutes to the entrance of the Garrison Command.
By car
If you choose to come by car, it is important to know that in the center of Timișoara, the parking spaces may be limited. It is advisable to look for a parking space in the areas adjacent to Piața Libertății or in one of the public parking lots available nearby, such as Piața Iancu Huniade or Bulevardul Revoluții din 1989.
