Text presentation of the author in English

Graduated FAUT (Timișoara Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism) in 2021. While working as a full time architect I'm also engaged in an academic career, as a teaching assistant at FAUT, since 2023, where my contribution is made for both theoretical and practical courses. My work as a photographer revolves around exploring and capturing unique scenes or viewpoints that express a deeper understanding behind the complex relationship between a piece of architecture and its context. I believe they should enhance each other and work together. Great architecture is one that stands out by fitting perfectly in a place.

Project description in English

In 2023, Timișoara was named European Capital of Culture. In addition to a variety of events, one of the main attractions and a source of much debate within the local community was The Nursery Pavilion by MAIO Architects from Barcelona. It is a temporary installation in the center of the city, consisting of a scaffolding covered in greenery. The main concept was to create an accessible green space for people to interact with. Although there are many green spaces in the city center, they are not accessible as they are enclosed by hedges, thus the relationship between people and green spaces takes place only on a visual level. Considering the fact that climate-based urban design is becoming increasingly important to create a good quality of public space, this existing form of greening does not meet today's requirements for urban space. The Nursing Pavilion takes up this concept of accessibility and creates a vertical, terraced structure that stands in stark contrast to the existing horizontal green spaces. This enhances the user's experience by bringing him closer to the plants and also providing a unique 360 panoramic view of the city center. The pavilion itself has been the venue for several events. An event where the pavilion was covered with white, semi-transparent sheeting emphasizes the already delicate nature of this installation. The entire tower reacts to slight changes in the air and feels alive as its soft, fragile white dress blends with the leaves and branches.
