Project description in English
Living Typologies Labs & Community Places for Homeless (Consolidation) is an innovative project that aims to address the issue of homelessness in Hungary while also addressing waste management in society. The project focuses on the creation of temporary structures called modules, which can be transported and set up in various locations throughout Budapest, particularly in the abandoned t areas of Districts 7 and 8. The main concept behind Living Typologies Labs is to provide a flexible and adaptable solution to homelessness while also promoting sustainable practices. The modules are designed to serve as job opportunities for homeless individuals, offering them a safe and dignified place to work. These structures are built using recycled and repurposed materials, emphasizing the importance of waste management and reducing environmental impact.
The main function of the modules is ''to recycle plastic'' into making small - medium furniture with ease and a merge of community garden of scaffolding systems that create an opportunity to merge normal people with homeless people and enhance the community values. By locating the modules in the abundant areas of Districts 7 and 8, the project aims to integrate the homeless population into society. It recognizes that homelessness is not a fixed problem but rather a dynamic issue that can affect anyone, anywhere. Therefore, the project takes a mobile approach, allowing the modules to be transported and placed in different locations as needed.
This approach helps to address the immediate needs of homeless individuals while also ensuring the project’s flexibility in responding to changing circumstances. Living Typologies Labs serves as a platform for collaboration and innovation. It brings together various stakeholders, including architects, social workers, and community members, to contribute their expertise and ideas. By involving the local community, the project aims to foster a sense of ownership and social responsibility, encouraging the integration of homeless individuals into society.
