Hug

Marta Cristha Bacalu is a student at the Faculty of Architecture and Urban Planning in the 6th year and a member of the Association of Architecture Students Timisoara – A4, where in the school year 2022- 2023 she had the position of Coordinator of the Image Department. Currently, she is a volunteer in the association focusing on graphical communication. During her university years, Marta participated in diverse contests from the architectural sphere, the most important being the contest organized by Romanian Creative Week 2022 where she won the Arts and Crafts section with an urban furniture project. She activated as a volunteer for BETA where she collaborated with Studio BASAR, in the context of the biennial, with the project “Bătător Plus”.

This photographic series presents images where the architecture covers more than 70% of the frame, like in a hug, the viewer is covered by architecture. The point of view of shooting is looking up to make the architecture the dominant piece, which overwhelms the viewer.
