Marta Cristha Bacalu is a sixth-year student at the Faculty of Architecture and Urban Planning and an active member of the Association of Architecture Students Timisoara – A4. During the 2022-2023 school year, she served as the Coordinator of the Image Department and continues to volunteer for the association, focusing on graphical communication. Throughout her university years, Marta has participated in various architectural contests, with her most significant achievement being the win in the Arts and Crafts section of the Romanian Creative Week 2022 contest for her urban furniture project. In addition to her academic pursuits, Marta has volunteered for BETA and collaborated with Studio BASAR on the "Bătător Plus" project during the biennial event.

The photo series shows different ways to cover and be covered. Architecture has the power to convey the feelings of a community, and to speak for itself about past and present events, architecture is about people and for people, so the traces of people that give it dynamics have the power to change it, to cover it, and transform it completely. Nature, which always covers us, presented in photo no. 1 – Garden of Exile, Jewish Museum Berlin; to cover the "gaps" in the architecture in photo no. 2 - Humboldt Forum Berlin; to be covered by natural hazards in photo no. 3 – The Greco-Roman theater of Catania covered in ash following the eruption of the Etna volcano, in July 2024; as well as the activities of everyday life that cover the architecture and give it life, photo no. 4 – Palermo collective housing facade.
