About the location
ARChA, the new flagship space of the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism within the Timișoara Polytechnic University, was born in 2023, from the convergence of several visions of development and recovery of the built heritage belonging to the UPT Campus. Built at the end of the 20s of the 20th century, under the baton of the prestigious architect Duiliu Marcu, the 2 MV Canteen building is part, together with the body of the Faculty of Mechanics and the 1 MV Dormitory, of the most representative and coherent ensemble of the campus. By recovering and transforming the old cafeteria, ARChA adds a new chapter to the 100-year history of the campus and manifestly captures the new philosophy of the School of Architecture and Urbanism in Timișoara, defining itself as the epicenter of the meeting between the university and the creative classes of the city.
ARChA is a place programmatically dedicated to intersections of all kinds between architecture, art and technology.
By bike
We encourage you to come by bike to our events. On the university campus there are several racks where you can safely tie up your bike.
By Tram / Bus
The nearest tram station is 400 m from the location, in Nicolae Bălcescu Square. The bus stops right in front of the faculty, at the Faculty of Mechanics station.
This is a convenient and affordable option, but be sure to check the timetables and available lines to plan accordingly.
By car
If you choose to come by car, it is important to know that in the center of Timișoara the parking spaces may be limited. It is advisable to look for a parking space in the adjacent areas or in one of the public parking lots available nearby.
